Follow the booking screen instructions shown below.

The Booking Form

There are useful instructions in the green box above the form, please read them at least once :) If you have any questions, please mail admin@teana.co.za

On the right hand side, you will find your profile information, the weapons you have been certified to use and Teana's banking details. Please do check your profile and weapon certs every time you book for an event. If something looks wrong and you can't fix it, mail admin@teana.co.za.

Just above the booking form, you'll find the Event Name, the Start Date, the Player, NPC and Catering costs for the event.

And finally, the form itself:
The form is fairly self explanatory, but if you get stuck, please mail admin@teana.co.za. Some things to remember:

  • You can book either with an approved character profile or the booking placeholder profile if you don't yet have an approved character.
  • If you book with the booking placeholder, you can change your booking by coming back to the booking page and selecting the character profile of the character you want to take to the event.
  • You can add catering or a mug to a booking later by coming back to the booking page for the event and selecting them.
  • The payment reference is the text that will appear in Teana's bank account. Some banks call this the recipient reference.
  • You can check on the status of your payments by returning to the booking page for the event and seeing if the green boxing showing that you have paid are displaying.

This should be things that any person in Teana could find out about your character by asking around at a few places where you hang out. The text in this box will be readable by anyone whose logged in to the site once you are approved as a character.

In the character concept box, fill in a very short description of the heart of your character's personality. Your character concept is only visible to you and plot. Try not to make this much longer than a few sentences since it displays in your character grid, it will make the display very strange.

Lastly, in character secrets, fill in all the stuff you want plot to know. Character secrets is only visible to you and plot. Here you should the whole story of your character, including any plot hooks you’d like plot to run with 

If the Public Profile is checked, all players will be able to see that this player profile belongs to you.

Make sure you click Save.

Once you’ve saved, the character will show up in the grid:
On small screens, you might need to scroll down and scroll the table to the right in order to see the select button on the link to edit the character profile after creating it.

Once plot has actioned your character (either to approve or decline, you will receive a mail with the feedback and the feedback will display on the top of your character):
Once approved, you'll be able to use your character to book for events and post in the forum.

Post Event Character Reports

Go to the site map page of the Teana site (available in the white left hand navigation menu or the top black menu). On Site Map, click on You in Teana and click on Manage Character Reports:

Select the character for which you wish to write the report (red arrow). All events that the character has been to will display in the event box. Select the appropriate event (yellow arrow). If you have already submitted a report for the event, the text box below will be populated with the data. Otherwise the text box will be empty.

You can work on your report and save as you write by using the Save Report button. Once you’re happy with the report, you submit it to plot by using the Submit Report to Plot. The status of the report will be displayed on the top of the text box. The status means the following:

  • This report has not yet been submitted to plot. – You have saved the report but not yet submitted it.
  • This report was submitted to plot on {Date} but has not yet been reviewed. – You have submitted the report but plot has not yet read it.
  • This report was reviewed by {Plot member name} on {Date}. – The report has been reviewed by plot.

Once your report has been reviewed, you will get 1/4 build blanket added to your character.

Managing Character Stats

Initially....

All characters start with:

  • Thirty 30 build points.
  • Three silver
  • Ten production points

The only exception to this rule is if you have been a perma NPC for us and this is the first character you are drawing up in game. If that is the case, once your character is approved, mail admin@teana.co.za and they will backdate the date from which you are allowed to spend Goblin Points to the event where you first NPCed for us.

So what this means is that unless you were previously an NPC, until your character has been to either a Main Weekend Event or an Adventure Day, you cannot spend goblin points on your character.

Your new character doesn't need to be approved to start spending your build. As soon as your character has been created as per How to Create Your Character, you can immediatly follow the steps detailed below to start building your character.

Go to the site map page of the Teana site (available in the white left hand navigation menu or the top black menu). On Site Map, click on You in Teana and click on Manage Character Stats:

Select your character by clicking on this name in the white box and then clicking the Next button. On initial character creation, you must go to the Character Info screen first, this actually gives you your starting build, production points and silver. The character info screen should display like this:

Now you may progress through the Character Stats wizard using either the blue links on the left or the previous and next buttons (the finish button on the last screen does nothing, by design :)). Either click on the Skills blue link or click on Next from the Character Info Screen.

If you have build available, it will display as Available Build. As you select skills in the white text box, the skill pre-reqs and skill discription displays in the green box below the skills selection box. You buy the skill by clicking on the Buy Skill button at the bottom of the page, just above the Previous button. The character wizard will not allow updates 2 weeks before a main event, all data is locked at that point to allow for tag generation and printing. The interface is will be open again a few days after the event completes.

How to buy production items

Go to the site map page of the Teana site (available in the white left hand navigation menu or the top black menu). On Site Map, click on You in Teana and click on Manage Character Stats:

Select your character by clicking on this name in the white box and click on the Items tab in the left hand menu.
To buy items, click on the tabs and enter the quantity you wish to buy. Then click save and click ok to the warning popup that says that this action cannot be undone (make sure you choose the right items). Your production points available will automatically decrease.

You can view items bought either on the Character Items tab or on the Summary Items screen:

Items bought with goblin points display as consumable items. Items bought from the magical goblin store as per Goblin Store or magical items gathered at events display as Special Items under the Your Special Item Summary tab. Bravo Trophies are gathered at event and are items that can be evaluated using the Evaluate Item skill and are worth a certain amount of money.

Leveling after an Event

Go to the site map page of the Teana site (available in the white left hand navigation menu or the top black menu). On Site Map, click on You in Teana and click on Manage Character Stats:

Select your character by clicking on this name in the white box and click on the EP & Build tab in the left hand menu. Once admin has captured your silver & EP blanket for the event, the screen will display like this: Select the event which you attended in the drop down box. This will allow you to buy your EP build blanket again with silver. The text box will be populated with the amount of additional EP you may buy or the amount of silver that you have, whichever is smaller. Convert silver to EP by clicking on the Convert Silver to EP button. Then, scroll down and click on Convert All EP and that will actually convert your EP to Build Points which can be spend on your character on the Skills screen as per above.

Using Goblin Points

In the Manage Character section, select your character and click on the Goblin Spend link in the left hand menu:

You may spend goblins per week on build (the system keeps track of when was the last time you spent goblins and calculates how many goblins you may spend on the day when you log in). You may spend 50 goblins per week to buy your build blanket in EP. This EP is automatically converted to build.

You may spend 100 goblins per month to gain silver at a rate of 1 goblin to 1 silver.

You may spend 100 goblins per month to gain production points with which to buy items at a rate of 1 goblin per 1 production point.

Enter the number of goblins you wish to convert in the text box that corresponds with the conversion you wish to do. Then clickon the convert button and OK on the confirmation popup box. Your build, silver or prod will be added and weeks or months available will automatically decrease. You can now spend your build points as per above. Your silver will display on the character information screen. You can spend production points as per the description above, or you can contact admin@teana.co.za and sell your production points for silver at the rate of 2 shields (silver coins) per 1 production point.

Using the Goblin Store

Using Goblin Points on Estates

Go to the site map page of the Teana site (available in the white left hand navigation menu or the top black menu). On Site Map, click on Estates in Teana and click on Convert Goblins into Estate Improvements:

  • Select a character to load the estates associated with that character in the second drop down.
  • Select one of your estates. This will automatically show the amount of silver in the estate in the text box next to the drop down.
  • Enter the amount of goblins. This will automatically show the amount of silver that will be generated by the goblin spend in the second text box.
  • Click on Spend Goblins. This will convert the goblins into silver available on that estate, subtract the goblins off your total and send a mail to estates telling them of the purchase. This action takes a while, don’t worry, just don’t close the browser until the white cover vanishes.

Buying Magical Items

Go to the site map page of the Teana site (available in the white left hand navigation menu or the top black menu). On Site Map, click on You in Teana and click on Buy Magical Items:

You have to select one of your characters here.

Buying Scrolls or Cantrip Pages

If you want to buy a formal scroll or cantrip pages, select them from the “Formal Mage Items Available” drop down. This will automatically populate the text box next to it with the item name. You can adjust it or not, as you please. I’d recommend taking out the number in brackets. The number in brackets indicates the goblin point cost on a side note.

Click on buy item (in the Formal Mage Items Available grouping). This will create the item for your selected character, spend the goblins and send a mail to the goblin store informing them of the purchase. As with estates, this takes a while, don’t worry, just don’t close the browser before the white overlay goes away.

Buying Goblin Store Items

If you want to buy one of the Goblin Store standard items, select them from the Enchanted items drop down. This will automatically populate the text box with the name of the item and will load the types of items that the standard enchantment can be added to in the second drop down. It will also show the full details of the enchantment to be applied

You have to select an item to apply the enchantment to. If you select the elemental aura weapon, you must enter the elemental auras the weapon has. You may alter the name if you wish. Then click on Buy Item in the Enchanted Items Available grouping. This will create the item, add the formal, subtract the goblin points and send an e-mail to the goblin store informing them of the purchase. As with estates, this takes a while, don’t worry, just don’t close the browser before the white overlay goes away.

Building Custom Magical Items

First, select a duration from the radio buttons. I'd recommend the two year option.

Then decide if you want to add the indestructible option.

Then select either Weapon, Armour Suit or Miscellaneous from the first drop down. This will populate the second drop down with items of that type. Select one of those items.

Then select an enchantment to add. This will automatically populate the enchantment into the form as displayed above. You can increase the enchantment and add notes about the enchantment.

There’s a whole series of validations around enchantments, so watch the red error message at the top of the page for help on building your item.

To remove an enchantment, just set its times applied value to 0.

You’ll have to enter an item name and enchantments like cloak, bane and elemental aura that have specific effects will need notes in their text boxes to say what they counter / are. Only enter the notes once you have added all the enchantments, otherwise the notes will vanish each time you add an enchantment.

Remember, you can only have 5 effects (not counting rendering and extensions) on a given item.

The goblin cost of the item will display just below the blue heading "Build Your Own".
